The Shuttle

The shuttle is packed with intelligent functions designed to adapt to your specific warehouse needs from handling different pallet types to enabling optimized loading and retrieval strategies. With advanced logic and flexible operation modes, the shuttle ensures fast, safe, and efficient pallet movement in every scenario.

With standard features like Automatic Store, the shuttle adapts to the pace of the operator. Whether the operator is faster or slower, Radioshuttle™ maintains a seamless flow of pallets, automatically switching to ECO mode when idle.

When a specific number of pallets needs to be stored or retrieved, the selective handling function allow precise control over how many pallets are to be stored or retrieved, perfect for mixed inventory management.

Each shuttle is equipped with features like warning lights, audio signals, bright and clear display systems, etc. This is the result of 30 years of evolution and continuous improvement.

Radioshuttle™ works with more than 200 approved pallet types. The shuttle can manage a weight of up to 1,800 kg and is ready for Industry 4.0, Wi-Fi, RFID and WMS.

The Satellite Racking Structure

While no one can fully prevent accidents or impacts in a warehouse environment, we know how to design steel structures that minimize the consequences both for the system itself and, most importantly, for the people working around it.

Every construction has weak points, but by making each connection stronger than the load-bearing profile, we effectively stop the spread of energy from, for example, a forklift collision. In other words, the weakest point determines the overall safety of the structure and thanks to our Engineering Principles, those weak points become our strongest selling points.

Radioshuttle™ requires its own unique racking system - Satellite Racking - which APC sells, installs & supports for all our Radioshuttle™ clients.

Versatile Applications

Your Radioshuttle™ setup can be configured in 4 different ways, depending on your specific requirements:

FIFO - First in first out

Use Radioshuttle™ in your facility to store date critical items that require the first pallets in to be the the first pallets out. Amazingly, Radioshuttle™ can be used to carry out a reorganization of your pallets, and when required, move all pallets closer to the retrieving side.

LIFO – Last in first out

The Radioshuttle™ system can operate in a LIFO flow when handling pallets that are not date‑critical. In this setup, both loading and unloading take place from the same side of the tunnel, meaning the last pallet stored is the first one retrieved. This creates a compact and efficient storage layout that maximizes utilization, as no second access side is required to maintain the flow.

Pick tunnel

The Radioshuttle™ system easily integrates with case picking to create a dynamic and efficient flow of goods. When used together, replenishment pallets are stored on the upper levels to feed the case picking lanes at ground level. The case picking is carried out from a pick tunnel located in the center of the system. This provides a compact and efficient way to store pallets close to picking operations, without compromising safety in the pick aisles.

Mezzanine for staging

The Radioshuttle™ system, combined with a structural mezzanine, brings several advantages to your facility. Open space for staging of product is created at ground level with buffer storage just on top of it – without sacrificing the selectivity. This solution will maximize usage of your existing available warehouse space, perfect at loading docks where the space above the staging usually isn’t utilizied.

Radioshuttle™ Options

The Radioshuttle™ ecosystem has multiple options available to support client needs.

These include:

Parking Station - Radioshuttle™ parking station is designed to accommodate the Radioshuttle™ when it’s not in operation, and when the user wants to move them away from the system. For example in warehouses that operate only 16 hours/day.

Radioshuttle™ can be parked in the rack and also charged without removing the batteries.

Charging Station - Fast , easy and controlled charging of batteries. Charging station for Radioshuttle™ gives the opportunity to keep good order on the charging of batteries. In each charging station there is space for 2 sets of batteries (4 pcs of battery cassettes).

The battery cassettes are placed in a extensible drawer equipped with automatic coupling.

When the drawer is closed the charging starts automatically. On the front there is a display clearly showing the charging status.

Lithium Batteries - The optional Radioshuttle™ Lithium battery is 40% lighter than our lead acid-gel batteries, delivers twice the runtime per charge, charges 50% faster, and can be recharged immediately after freezer use.

With up to three times the lifespan and 25% lower life cycle costs than standard lead-acid batteries, it also provides a more environmentally friendly solution by containing no lead, cadmium, or mercury.

Work Platform - If the unexpected occurs, the Radioshuttle™ work platform can be placed on the satellite racking tracks and will safely take you to the situation.
